The Art Tour
Art, Culture, and Connection.
An immersive, inspiring, community-driven tour celebrating creativity and local expression.
Art |
Launched in 2014, “The Art Tour”
Is an innovative initiative that transcends traditional gallery visits by offering participants an exclusive journey through diverse venues showcasing the vibrant work of Ethiopian artists. This dynamic tour fosters direct engagement between art lovers and creators, creating a unique platform for exposure, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
Over the years, numerous embassies—including Italy, Germany, Belgium, the USA, France, and the UK—have graciously hosted the tour, transforming diplomatic spaces into vibrant art venues. Additional stops have included the Allé School of Fine Arts and Design (AAU), CANVAS (Art for Good), private collections such as at the Italian Residence and The Art House, as well as TOSEGN restaurant. This variety of venues highlights the rich diversity of Ethiopia’s contemporary art scene.
Connection |
The primary goal of “The Art Tour” is to connect Ethiopian artists with enthusiasts
collectors, and professionals, providing artists with invaluable exposure and opportunities to refine their negotiation skills for selling their work. The tour also serves as a platform for art lovers to experience a wide spectrum of artistic expression, meet the creators behind the masterpieces, purchase artwork, and network—all while enjoying curated refreshments at each venue.
Transportation is seamlessly organized with modern buses, enhancing the sense of camaraderie and making the experience enjoyable and accessible for all participants.
Support |
A key aspect of the initiative is supporting local art education
Participating artists retain 80% of their sales, with the remaining 20% contributing to the development of the Allé School of Fine Arts and Design (AAU). This financial support helps the institution work toward self-sustainability despite ongoing enrolment challenges.
“The Art Tour” continues to foster cultural dialogue, elevate Ethiopian artists, and build a vibrant community of art enthusiasts—making each journey a memorable celebration of Ethiopia’s artistic talent.
